Laboratory of Electrical Energy: Closing reception

The department of Electrical Energy (EELAB) will move in the summer of 2014 from the Technicum building to the Science Park Zwijnaarde. To say goodbye to the lab for one last time, a closing reception will take place on Wednesday the 7th of May. All professors, assistants, researchers, workers, students and alumni are welcome!

eKart Mechanical Project Night
Time has come to bring our ideas about the new eKart to reality! Join us to work on mainly mechanical aspects and think about possible solutions for future challenges. The goal remains to equip the kart with two motors, one on each rear wheel. This means we will have to split the rear axle, such that each wheel is powered separately. This, however, requires a complete transformation of the rear end of the kart and we therefore organise a project night to start this transformation. We have set a couple of tasks to be done during the project night:

    Karting

    Do you have what it takes to beat your fellow buddies in karting? Join the IEEE Student Branch Gent in a karting Grand Prix at Worldkarts Kortrijk! In a first session you will try to achieve your best racing time possible. Afterwards everyone will race a finale against equally fit competitors.

    This event will take place on Wednesday the 26th of February. A bus will leave the Jozef-Plateaustraat 22 at 18h30. Please be early! The bus will leave Kortrijk again at around 23h.

    Kickoff Robot Competition

    Since 2008 WELEK organises a yearly robot competition in cooperation with Dwengo vzw. Last year, around 150 students from high school, college and university took part in our sumo-robotcompetition.
    Based on this success, we will organise the Race of Champions in 2014. Everyone can participate in this competition!
